Welcome to the Family, Sir St. Joseph!

Well, all, let's give a welcoming hand to the newest addition of the makeover club.

Oh yeah, Sir St. Joseph was acquired via a Craigslist add, and I sent hubby on a roadtrip to go make the purchase.  Oddly enough, it was yet another cat house where they asked him again if he wanted a cat to take with.

What is it with people ditchin' their cats??

Anyway, this is what we started with...

He needed some repairs, as he had some broken drawers and heavy dings, but he was well worth a tiny investment to buy from people who are moving and trying to unload their possessions for pennies.

Some sanding,

two coats of Valspar Signature in grey,

some dry-brushing in white to heighten the paint,

...and a gentleman is transformed.

The hardware was left in its original state.

Each drawer featured a different set of antique pulls.

Really, he turned out handsome, dapper and charming.

He is ready to court a new lady.

His swivel mirror has just a tad of ghosting to it.

Oh yes, Sir St. Joseph is appreciative.

It sure feels good to be cleaned up and spiffy!

He will be partying this week at:

What a great transformation that color is lovely. I also like the drybrushing technique you applied. Lol @ people ditching their cats in craiglist sales.

Love your name of the post! Grey is absolutely the new white. I am currently obsessed with ASCP French Linen. Nice work!

Andrea, those buckets turned out to be Turkish olive baskets (or at least that was what the tags on them said). They were $65 a piece!!! So I left them there.

This came out great and looks fabulous! You did a wonderful job!

Actually, I work on a number of paintings at one time, so that I'm not tempted to continue working on one when I hit a roadblock. This way, I can put it aside before ruining it and work on another. It really takes a long time, but sometimes I finish a few around the same time.

Thanks for your visit and enjoying "Paradise."

Okay, now I am really going out to buy Valspar Signature paint! This dresser is totally fabulous! How bizarre that people want to give you guys cats. I'm thinking that maybe they adopt a lot of homeless cats and then can't manage all of them! Hmmm, it's a mystery.

Thanks for stopping by. It's really great to 'meet' you! ~ Yvonne (a new follower)
