For the Dogs...

Last year when we visited our farmer friend's farm,

we really wanted to take the old dog house home.

It was so cute, such a neat vintage teal green.

He said we could have it, but it was so honkin' heavy

it was not to be budged.

So Dan built one from scratch for Sharkey and Ruby Sue.

They, of course, want no part of it,

and have graffiti paw prints of rejection all over it.

You try to get them to come by it, and they jump on it.

I have to throw toys in front of it to even get them in the photo

of his dog house.

They so don't care that he built it and painted it French blue just for them.

I can just picture them saying, "Really, Dad?  Really?"

What a wonderful dog house- One any dog would be proud to own. What a shame you couldn't have pulled the old one out and home- xo Diana

It's adorable, your hubby did a great job. maybe the pups will like it better with a blanket when it's 5 degrees outside!!

The old dog house is so pretty with that color. The one that Dan built is so pretty also and looks like he spent a lot of time and energy in to it. I really like how he trimmed it out in white. It's so funny (not to Dan) that they won't have any part of it. Even toys won't keep them there. Do they have a favorite blanket you can throw in there? Maybe one day they will love it as much as the old one. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!

LOL! As you started the post I was wondering do dogs really go into dog houses? Is it just some old Snoopy dog house myth ... though, truth be told, he typically hung out on top, right? I can't imagine my dog going in there. Geez, my dog is afraid of plastic bags!

This is the nicest dog house I have ever seen. The light blue color was a awesome choice. The dogs look happy in and out of it.
