This has been the summer of buffets! We are overloaded.
I never grow tired of buffets.
Perhaps it's because I don't have one myself.
I always say, "I'm going to keep this one," and then I never do because
I find something else I'm going to keep!
Here's the before...
When work commenced on this piece, it was so stinkin' hot and humid outside
I couldn't even take a picture without my lens fogging up.
Blehhh...
The sides were not repairable and had to be replaced, as did the veneer on the doors.
We cut some backer-board to size and glued it on with clamps.
The doors were pretty plain then, so we glued some wooden decals on
to make her a bit more regal.
And regal she is... like a fortune teller!
After much sanding, puttying, repairing, glueing, priming, painting, and poly-coating,
she is finally complete.
Ha, I see myself in the gazing ball now-- soooo not supposed to be in there!
Her drawers feature crystal knobs...
...her interior spaces are white-washed and clean...
Elegance restored.

Love it! It is beautiful, I wish I could find one! I found the card catalog and now I want the buffet!
You gave it a beautiful new life! Great Job! You should definitely keep one for yourself...":o)
Blessings!

Great piece now..and you should keep one for yourself. Take care, Janice
And elegant she is! What kind of poly do you use? I'm painting a white dry sink/cabinet for myself but I don't know what to use so it won't yellow.
I know how you feel about buffets, because I feel the same way. I always seem to find a buffet that I just have to have. Luckily I can bring them to my booth. This buffet reminds me so much like my 2nd one. Love those legs, and really liking how you finished her. Beautiful! Thanks for always sharing at Sunday's Best.
That turned out great, Andrea. It is just wonderful. Hope you had a great day- xo Diana
You brought it back to life. Job well done. It sure looks elegant and regal. I might just have to grab one of those buffet table for me.
Another magnificent job Andrea
well done to you.
It looks amazing.
Have a great weekend

Your make over has taken it from ugly to fabulous! I would love that in my dining room :)
What a beautiful redo. Sorry but I think that one is a keeper, I'd have a hard time giving it away! Laura
just gorgeous!!!
Wow! That turned out beyond gorgeous! And thanks for your comment about mine! "Retro, yet modern" is a great description! I love buffets....
I'm glad you left a comment in my blog post, 'cause - WOW!!! Was I happy to find your blog! For the past couple of years I've really gotten into making new things of old bits and pieces, and repairing broken stuff to start a life as brand new ones. I haven't gotten into furniture yet (that's simply because I haven't been able to brainwash my husband enough yet) and I don't exactly have room or equipment to do so - but some day, I hope!
And I just can't believe how much stuff you guys have found abandoned on the streets!
You did a wonderful job on the buffet. I love the white and the decals look very pretty. Great post and photos. I hope you have a great weekend.
I LOVE what you have done with this buffet and I want one too!! I need to keep my eyes peeled around here. lol

Will it go into your lovely home?
It is smashing.... as the Britts would say!
:)
She is a stunner now! Is there nothing that white paint and crystal knobs cannot fix??? Oh, and lets not forget determination! Great job!
Love, Love, Love it. She is a good looker, I'd have to keep her. Beautiful work! So glad you shared your creative inspiration with Sunday's Best!
Andrea,
I love this white buffet, and I wish I had it. It looks like a dresser that the girls had when they were young. I gave it away, and now I'm sorry I did. You did a great turning it into something lovely.

I'm a new follower as well. You put some new foundation garments on this old lady and gave her a new lease on life. She is a beauty now.
Just love this buffet's makeover Andrea! It is stunning.
Charming and elegant for sure. Do you mind sharing the paint you used? Thank you for sharing.
I can't believe how much better it looks in white. You picked the right color that is for sure.
