Formally January

This year there wasn't any snow for Christmas.

In fact, it was more brown than anything!
But we did get a bit of a dusting recently.

I can enjoy it a bit out our window...
it makes for a cozy winter day when it's sunny.

Although most of the decorations came down after the kings came,
I leave the evergreen garlands up for awhile.

I can't stand the nakedness of the house after Christmas celebrations.
So, leaving the greens up an extra week here allows me that extra winter garnish.

Oh, the stockings are still up in this photo.
Those did come down.

But the green will be stayin' in  my birdie cage a bit longer.

It's all natural and winter-y inside,
and I love the greens with my grey walls.
I'm trying to stretch my Christmas cheer out into winter cheer since it's so gloomy outside.

And one last favorite old pic of mine here...

Baby when she was just a baby in my Frenchy chair, her first winter.
(And I'm thinkin' now, those chairs are THAT old already?  I just got those).

I'm dying over that light coming in your room. What great shots and how you must enjoy sitting in there. I'm with you on gradually weaning off of the Christmas cheer. It always feels so empty and dull after the tree and the lights are gone. How fun that you had a dusting of snow. We seem stuck on a high of 79 here. It's like groundhog day (the movie).

Hi, Everything looks so great! We took everything down this weekend the only decorations are the lights and garland outside of the house. What a cutie sleeping on the chair Blessings, Anna

I left some pinecones and a bit of greenery up. I call it my winter decor. I love those chairs! Very pretty and they seem to be comfy too (from the baby photo)!

Such a lovely room...I have a window just like yours in my kitchen. Mine has 5 across and 4 down. It leaks every now and then...and it's drafty but I love it. Hope all is well!

Hi Andrea! Your photos are dazzling! That must be a wonderful place to sit. I'm going to keep celebrating winter too for awhile. I still have greens and they are still giving a nice scent. I love fairy lights year round too! Darling Baby!

Leaving a little green up after the holidays sounds like a good idea...all this brown is awful (winter is not my favorite time of the year..looking forward to SPRING already). Thanks for sharing at NTT.

Blessings,
Linda

Love your eclectic collection! I'm trying to figure out what to keep and what to put away - doing a wintery decor so things don't look so stark. I like to change it up and not put it back like it was...
