The tomatoes are starting to ripen all at once now.
You know when that happens?
It's too many to make salads...
Time to get ready to make some sauce.
We really need to get a food dehydrator.
Anyone have one?
Aldi's has a little one for $30
and I'm thinking I'm gonna get it
and try it out.
I could make some
(pseudo!)- sun-dried- tomatoes.
So how do you like your dehydrators?

don't know anything about a dehydrator, but love home grown tomatoes and love making relishes, chutney's and sauces with them!
I love home grown tomatoes! I've eaten several of my little Jelly Beans. I don't have a dehydrator.
I haven't linked my blog to Facebook yet. About the only thing I've done on Facebook is sign up and gotten a few friends.
I love all your fences!
Hi from Spain. Very glad to have discovered your blog!!! I love your garden, chickens, furniture, ... aaaall!! I join it. :o)
Your tomatoes are fabulous, and your garden looks amazing. Seems like everything is growing like a weed. Great veggies.
You asked about the Madeline silverware. I found it at Horchow on sale.
Thanks for the visit. Hugs, Marty
Andrea,
Oh, how I wish I had a home grown tomato right now. Not for salads, not for sauces, just a single one I can eat with a little salt and enjoy. Beautiful tomatoes. God has blessed you with delicious food.

Sure wish I had tomatoes right now also!!
We used our food dehydrator to dry apples and all kinds of goodies. loved it then...haven't used it for years. :)
Blessings~
I dry my tomatoes right in my oven and it works great. Those tomatoes are so ripe and red and lush! YUMMY!
Hi Andrea! You came by and just made my day! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment. I HAVE used a dehydrator. Wonderful for fruits and veggies and even meats! Our tomatoes are just coming on, and the flavor is just sensational. Like nothing you can buy at most markets. But you know that! Such a lovely crop you have!
No dehydrator here- I have used my oven as one though and that works pretty well. I can't eat tomatoes and I absolutely love them.
Hope you had a great day, Andrea- xo Diana
Beautiful tomatoes and beautiful garden. Tomato sauce, dried tomatoes, frozen tomatoes. We don't have a dehydrator any longer, but do use the oven. We also slice the tomatoes, some onions and saute them in a bit of olive oil before freezing them. We have tomatoes all winter for soups, with meat or anything else that we want. Enjoy all of the fruits of your garden.

Aren't the garden-grown tomatoes perfect?! I love them and have been consuming tomatoes in any possible way...I have just shared my mom's simple recipe for tomato juice on my blog! Enjoy!
What a gorgeous garden you have. Your tomatoes are so beautiful and red. Great Photos! Thanks for stopping by with your inspirational comments. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Andrea: Homegrown tomatoes--yay! I do use a dehydrator to dry them, then put them in a jar of extra virgin olive oil and store them in the fridge. You could also dry them in a very low oven. You can make a cooked salsa, and then freeze it as well.
Hi Andrea.... Thanks for visiting my site.... love your veg gardens! You were mentioning hostas in your comment... in our area August is generally the 2nd best time to move hostas (other than spring) as they tend to put out new roots then... I have the same situation with having removed several trees and the resulting burning of hostas... Larry
I have never had a dehydrator but it sounds like a good idea. Your tomatoes look delicious and so healthy!...Christine
Hi Andrea,
Your home grown tomatoes look delicious and hats off to you for making your own sauce! If I had the space I would try a vegetable garden, but I filled everything up with flowers :-) Thank you for stopping to visit me.
Yummy! I hear someone is making sauce. What time will it be on? Love your tomatoes..I really like the photos too:)
love your little ripe line-up.
love that 'big baby' above, too! :)

Beautiful fence! Lovely garden! And yum! Those tomatoes!
That is a nice fence!
LOVE that beautiful garden fence! I wish I had some ripe tomatoes! My mouth is watering over yours! How about sun-dried...I'm thinking about trying that this year.
Love the first shot! Those ripe tomatoes make my mouth water. I think sun dried tomatoes sounds like a good idea! Love your fence around that lush garden too!
I love those photographs! I need to make a tomato sandwich...
No dehydrator here, but I love some good canned tomato sauce. Can you believe I paid $2.00 for a tomato today! It's huge, but still that's a lot for one tomato. I had one the other day from the same farmer and it was worth every penny though.
you have a beautiful garden
the tomatoes look amazing, I make a great 'Sunday Sauce' as we call it in Brooklyn
