Stupid Cupid

(An old love note from 1906...)

My Dear Blanche,
How are you?
Why don't you come to C. sometime
and call on your friends?

Another birthday for you.
Well Blanche, hope you will have
many more happy birthdays.

With much love, Andy

(Blanche, if you didn't want anything to do with him,
why did you save this old card all those years?)

What was on your mind, Blanche?
(let's ALL pretend we're Blanche...what WAS on her mind?)
"Dear Andy...well,..."
(I'd love to hear your comments on this one!)

LOL
Dear Andy, I would LOVE to come to C and visit with my friends, but my Daddy has now confined me to my bedroom and keeps the key to my door secured around his neck. I KNEW that I shouldn't have kissed you out on the porch swing when he was in the house. Apparently Daddy was watching out the window and now here I am...and there you are.

Daddy asked me what we were up to and I said we were only kissing and his mouth got really tight. You were doing a lot more than that-he said. Well, I don't know about that-I told him.

Andy, One thing I don't understand though is why my clothes are so tight and my stomach has seemed to take on a life of its own.

Thanks for remembering my birthday. Respectfully yours, Blanche

I think Diana has a future writing romance novels. Too funny!

LOL I think perhaps Blanche was just a big flirt--and the postcard just another trophy?

I have saved many a letter over the years. It is so fun to read between the lines on these, isn't it. Geez, I miss getting letters in the mail. My niece is all excited because she has an old-fashioned pen pal....

I don't know I'm kinda of blank after Diana. But maybe she did have a special place in her heart for him, but knew it wasn't right. Keeping the card keeps it real, a great memory, and happy you didn't move ahead?
