No Room, Leon

"No room, no room..."
These were the words of my son
as he practiced his lines
for the Christmas play last week.
He was to be the inn keeper.
  "No room, no room."

The premise of the production
was about a child named LEON
who was being bullied and could only secure the part
of an understudy of the inn keeper in the school play-
and he ended up being the Christmas star-
NOEL.

How relevant-
to everything going on here on this little blog.
No room for the cost of a new computer to edit my images,
and no room to save the images I take.
Waiting
and thinking
about how I will handle this.

I am attempting some other methods right now
to see how they work for me.
I hope to get a new computer soon after the holidays are through.

Until then, I DO have room for life's other joys-
 the Christmas play,
the Christmas band concert,
basketball games,
holiday crafts with the kids,
kids' holiday parties,
and reflection on the more quiet meaning of advent-
patience and waiting and preparation.

And my son,
who didn't talk as a baby,
and ended up in speech therapy for a year,
and then stuttered for another year,
sang on stage in a trio of boys-
something I never thought he would do.

It's all possible.

I have taken some time to look over this little blog
in my time away
and she is getting freshened up.
I've begun some clean up and am generating ideas.
She's a little blog, but she's my blog.
I worry too much about how others perceive it,
 and I shouldn't.
 No more.
We're going to stay folksy as a donkey
and that's how we're gonna roll.

Thank you
to those who have not completely abandoned me
 since the computer virus.
I know I haven't posted as of late
so it's a boring place to be.
My son's science project ended up costing us $600,
well, that was the cost of the computer that it ate anyway.
Good thing he got an A.
After the holiday rush will be a better time
to search and invest
for a new device.

Until then,
a merry NOEL is in order over here.
Christmas is almost here!

(I am sooo behind in the giftwrap.)

NO ROOM FOR WORRIES.

A Virus

Folks...
Our computer has suffered a major hard drive crash
due to the Sweet Packs virus.
Dan has tried to fix the ongoing problem for two weeks with a variety of strategies,
but he has been unsuccessful.
It has been taken in to be serviced.
If it cannot be repaired, it will be replaced.
For now, I am just answering email on my work laptop.
I won't have access to my photos for at least a few more days yet.
So sorry for being gone during pumpkin season!
It has been very frustrating to not be able to access my blog.
See you soon on the prairie...

Need Help Posting Pics in Blogger!

Girls. please help!
The system keeps throwing me out again.

I'm using Chrome,
cleared the cookies,
have tried posting pics through html, not the compose method
(which worked before for  few weeks but now the screen just turns white
and throws me out again.)

Totally frustrated.
Have tried the Blogger help line but can't find anything
to correct this issue.

Anyone out there having the same problem???

Rack My Vintage Brain

Just when you think you're done with school...
your kids go to school....

...and once again you are learning about subject/verb agreement, predicates,
linking verbs, etc, and trying to explain the grammatical rule
rather than go by what just sounds right.

It's exhausting when they don't get it
and you have to go over it
over and over
and
over.

Well, I'm a child when it comes to technology!

Thank you to all who emailed me about my Blogger technology/ photo editing issue.
There is always some new glitch that I can't seem to navigate on my own.
Can't they keep it simple for the simple folk?
Does the system have to be so complicated?!

I appreciate your help, friends!

Help Me Folks, Blogger Hates Me

1) I cannot upload photos again.  It says I have "lost connection to server" in the photo block
when I am mid-post and attempting a photo insert. It comes up with a little orange triangle with an
exclamation point in it stating this fact.   Then the post freezes altogether.  Grrr......

2) And THEN I tried establishing a Picasa Web album, rather than just pulling images off of my
hard drive, and my images pull up, but then 'circle' and still don't upload to the post,
again freezing the post.

3) I am using Google Chrome (Chrome had solved my similar photo upload issue last week when
Internet Explorer and Firefox both said they "do not recognize my address.")

Now a photo issue again, but says I have lost connection to server?  What to do?

Help!  What do I do?

Just Checkin' and BLOGGER Issues

JUST CHECKIN' ...to see how everyone is doin'.

We check out the back window to make sure the girls made it through the night...

Winter has finally arrived.  It gets pretty cold at night.
But they're snug as bugs in rugs.

As for BLOGGER...
I just don't know what to say.
It seems like everyday I find another blog I cannot comment on.

I 'click' on 'comment,'
the screen pops up,
and then turns completely white and disables on me.
I even see the other comments people have made for a split second,
and then it all disappears.
What a tease.

So.....

After a few emails,
Debra at Common Ground determined it had something to do with the comments being 'embedded in the post'
(see :design, setting, comments- (I think))

(It says,"The embedded comment format cannot beused if you have post pages disabled."  Now, I don't think anyone disabled their pages, but BLOGGER is sure tripping us up here on this issue.)

After she changed her commenting format to a 'pop-up window,'
I am NOW able to comment on her blog again.

SO...
I figured there are some people who may not be able to comment on  MY blog for the same reason...
so I changed my format to a 'pop-up' window today as well.

I hope this resolves some problems if anyone had a difficult time accessing T&P.

I have emailed some of you that I have been unable to comment on your blog...
I still keep trying everyday, but it doesn't let me through.
I'm so sorry---
it's not that I don't want to comment,
BLOGGER just won't cooperate.

Just alerting some of you out there that the pop-up window format does help.
