The Armless Chair, part 2 Chair Re-Do

Yesterday I posted about a chair I redesigned.

Here are some pics of one of her sister chairs,
an armless brood picked up in the paddy wagon that same night.

She has already been redefined and reformed into a more proper lady of the prairie.
This chair sports a Hawkeye Field Seeds printed bag for her seat cushion.

I have four of these chairs.  What a collection!

What was the original finish on the chairs, again?
Here's one of the before pics...

Eww...crusty!

I have two chairs completely done now.
They all needed tightening up, fresh  paint, and new upholstery.

These chairs will be staying in the 'Home' collection.
I love them too much to part with them.

Feed Sack Chair Re-Do

A dozen or so chairs are stored up in the garage awaiting a spring make-over.

Make-over week begins!

Pure prairie dove... tossed to the curb like a piece of trash.

Picked up.

Great legs on this girl!

Also had some girlfriends with her who came along for the ride.

Here she is in a farm fresh redesign:

She had a fresh coat of white paint applied in Ben Moore Easter Lily.

Some distressing brought back that worn look- love!!

A new cushion was long overdue.

A feed sack with a Mammoth Clover design (purchased from Iowa Junk Gypsies)
fit the bill.

The pillow is from the Country Living collection at Kmart.

Simple.  Fresh.  Vintage.

Prairie dove girl, you cleaned up good!!

It's NOT a Rustic Chicken Cabinet...

(At least not originally!!)

So can you all take a guess?

I picked up this piece of folk art at the antique mart for a few dollars.

A who's it?  A what?

Look at the side...

Look at the script before I open her up.
See where it says 'lemon drops?'

And there's your clue!

Score!!

A bright yellow vintage candy advertisement.

Defintitely DON'T count your chickens before they're hatched!!

(This is way better than the chicken anyway).
