More Fall Garden Delights

The kids really love the garden.  They learn so much about seeds, watching plants grow, and collecting the harvest.  For the last couple of years, we have planted pumpkins and gourds because they provide so much fall color and FUN for the kids.  Seriously, who DOESN'T  love a pumpkin???

This year, though, was a bummer for pumpkins and gourds in our garden.  The squirrels just kept digging all of the seeds out of the turned earth before they could even get established.  We got a few nice ones... but not like last year.   Here are some gourds we collected for the kitchen table.

The limelights on the table are from our garden, too.

We placed a few squash next to the front door for a display.  Of course, my daughter keeps rearranging everything.

Oh!  And we got a few really cool snake gourds in the end!  The kids each took one to show and tell this week.  No one knew what it was.

But that's the fun of it!

Wow, I've never heard of a snake gourd. They are huge.
